History

The school was built in 1959.

Originally there were two completely different schools; an infant and a junior school. Interestingly, the schools had no contact with each other although they had an adjoining door. Both schools were amalgamated in the late 70's with Camps Hill becoming a community school in 2001.
The badge in the picture was the school badge in 1989. We do not know what the three towers represent or the chevron shape but we are keen to learn more about the history of our school.

Stevenage is an old Saxon settlement and 'Chells' means 'ash tree slope'.
