Camps Hill received additional funding under the title Sports Pupil Premium. This money is to be used to enhance the learning experiences and participation in sporting activities. The school received £9,605 of Sports Pupil Premium Grant this academic year.

Camps Hill is currently employing two Sports Teaching Assistants who support PE lessons, run afterschool clubs, organise lunch time clubs and provide opportunities for Camps Hill pupils to take part in sports festivals.

Key Priorities: 

To increase opportunities for participation, including for our young SEND pupils, in a range extra-curricular and competitive opportunities.

To use physical activity to improve pupils' health, wellbeing and educational outcomes.

To use PE, school sport and physical activity to impact on whole school priorities.

Sports Premium Action Plan 2014-2015

Camps Hill received additional funding under the title Sports Pupil Premium. This money is to be used to enhance the learning experiences and participation in sporting activities. The school received £5,888 of Sports Pupil Premium Grant this academic year.

This year we aim to deliver the following:

Camps Hill is currently employing two Sports Apprentices, one from Stevenage Sporting Futures team and the other directly through the school. These Sports Apprentices are supporting PE lessons, running afterschool clubs, organising lunch time clubs and providing opportunities for Camps Hill pupils to take part in sports festivals.

Target: Extra Curricular sports clubs last year 41% of children accessed. We aim to increase this by 20% by offering additional lunch time clubs and after school clubs. During 2014-15- 61% of children will access a sports club throughout the year.

Register for festivals and competitions organised and delivered by Stevenage Sporting Futures according to calendar of events which could lead to participation in Herts School Games.

Target: Each year group to access a minimum of one event during the year.

Ensure that the children have access to quality dance and gymnastics lessons. Two fully trained Dance Teachers to take dance lessons and will provide opportunities for identified children to participate dance festivals. These teachers are working across the key stages and support class teachers with planning and assessment. Lunchtime clubs to be run by dance teachers in alternate phases each term.

Target: All year groups to have a minimum of one terms access to this provision.

To work closely with Stevenage Football Club. Coaches to support teaching of quality PE lessons and provide active and engaging sport sessions across key stages.

Target: Year 6 to access weekly coaching and to become confident to play a variety of games which prompt good ball skills, Year 5 Aspire project for half a term to support PSHE curriculum and our deliver of our 'Golden Thread' curriculum, Y1 to access ABC’s project for half a term to give an opportunity to develop sportsmanlike skills.
